DO NOT rake leaves into the gutter as the street sweepers will not sweep through these piles. All leaves must be placed for proper collection in barrels or paper leaf bags according to City of Newton ordinances 11-8(d). Also raking leaves into the gutter violates City of Newton Ordinances 26-24 and 20-51. The City does not vacuum leaves. For more information see the City of Newton’s Yard Waste page.
